On Tuesday, I stopped by Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno to meet with the folks at Fresno FC, who will be joining the USL for the 2018 season.
At first, I was skeptical about the logic behind putting a brand new USL team in a market that already had a successful PDL team in the Fresno Fuego. But after chatting with General Manager Frank Yallop, and office staff members Fred Matthes and Jordan Wiebe, I get the sense that Fresno FC is not here to supplant the Fuego, instead, embrace their tradition as they usher in professional soccer for the first time in the valley.
Enjoy some of the photos I took, and stay tuned for my interview with Yallop where we delve into the issue I outlined above.
Great to have @TheSoccerTour stop by Chukchansi Park this afternoon!
